Did you move?

The New Britain Industrial Museum has had two locations: its current site at 59 West Main Street and its original site in the CCSU/ITBD Building at 185 Main Street.

Some GPS models may direct you to 185 Main Street instead of our current location. We apologize for any inconvenience. Feel free to call (860) 832-8654 during our open hours if you need help finding our street location, just two doors down from New Britain City Hall.

How long does it take to tour?

All visitors are offered a guided tour, which lasts roughly one hour. Plan to spend about an hour at the museum to include enough time for perusing without a guide, purchasing your tickets, and taking a look in the Museum Store.

Is the Museum wheelchair accessible?

Yes, it is! The exhibit spaces are on one level with some seating available. We have a ramp at the ready to invite all guests through our doors.

Special thanks to an anonymous donor for gifting the Museum a new, top-of-the-line portable ramp.

Do you accept donations?

Thank you for asking! Our Collections Committee carefully assesses all offers of donation. As a 501(c)3 division of the New Britain Institute, all donations made to the New Britain Industrial Museum are tax deductible, and they ensure that New Britain’s industrial history is preserved for future generations. If you are interested in donating an object to the museum, please contact us with photos and information.
