History Talks is a series of programs presented by the New Britain Industrial Museum on life and work in the Hardware City and the Nutmeg State. These programs are presented either in the Industrial Museum or at another location such as the New Britain Public Library, the Downtown District’s Visitor Center or in the Community Room at the New Britain Police Station. Saturday October 21 | 11:00 – 1 | Karen Hudkins World War I in the Hardware City
Join NBIM director Karen Hudkins at the New Britain Museum of American Art for a free tour of their Harry Townsend exhibit and talk about World War I in the Hardware City. The gallery talk will be about 45 minutes and will be followed by a walk up to the WWI monument in Walnut Hill for a discussion on the history of the monument and how American paid tribute to those who didn’t come home.
