History Talks & Events @ the NBIM

History Talks is a series of programs presented by the New Britain Industrial Museum on life and work in the Hardware City and the Nutmeg State. These programs are presented either in the Industrial Museum or at another location such as the New Britain Public Library, the Downtown District’s Visitor Center or in the Community Room at the New Britain Police Station. Sunday June 4 | 1:00 pm | Jimmy Golon ~ the Night of Fires
At 9:48 on June 2, 1971 a fire was reported at a vacant 4 story building at 122 Commercial Street. That fire sparked others that burned through the night and well into the next day. Using dramatic images of the fires Jimmy Golon will walk us through the events of the days that became known as New Britain’s “Night of Fires”. Note new place and time.
